Congrats to Anthony Serrano, who finished sixth Tuesday at the Final Table at the fifth annual World Food Championships in Orange Beach, Ala.
More than 400 professional and amateur chefs faced off in what’s billed as the world’s food sport competition.
Serrano, chef and owner of El Palacio Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, advanced to Tuesday’s final 10 by winning best recipe, one of 10 food categories, over the weekend.

The theme for this year’s recipe category was breakfast. Serrano received $10,000 for winning the category.
Other categories were seafood, barbecue, chili, dessert, bacon, sandwich, seafood, burger, and steak.
Kari Luke of Cissna Park, Ill., who won the steak category, took the overall title and earned $100,000 in cash and prizes.
