Dogfish Head Brewery founder Sam Calagione, one of the best-known figures in the U.S. craft brewing industry, will be the special guest at an IPAs for the Holidays Ugly Sweater Party from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flanny’s Bar & Grill in Tempe.
Calagione will be bringing 20 beers, including several versions of his flagship 120 Minute IPA, from the Delaware brewery:

Calagione launched Dogfish Head in 1995. He was featured prominently in the 2009 documentary ‘‘Beer Wars’’ and was the subject of the Discovery Channel series ‘‘Brew Masters’’ (2009-2011).
He also is credited with inventing the Randall, a popular device used to infuse beer with flavor-enhancing ingredients, in 2002.
