March 15: ‘Taste of Romeo’s’ dinner at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert

Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus (pictured) and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15.

The dinners typically feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:

  • Spanaki Balls: Balls of spinach, rice, mozzarella, and provolone. Battered and deep fried. Served with chilled tomato sauce.
  • Balsamic Steak Salad: Grilled steak tossed in extra virgin olive oil, balsamic, vinegar with roasted red peppers, scallions, tomatoes, mushrooms, red cabbage, artichoke hearts, and sunflower seeds with romaine lettuce.
  • Vasco De Gama: Sautéed chicken and gulf shrimp with carrots, mushrooms, green onions, sun-dried tomatoes, and whole black peppercorns in a creamy curry-mustard seed sauce with bow tie pasta and pistachios.
  • Pork Molise: Grilled pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon, roasted garlic, horseradish mashed potatoes, honey caramelized onions, and apricot-cherry sauce.
  • Satin Bondage: Toasted almond sponge cake soaked in Amaretto with coconut, white chocolate, cream cheese icing, and Malibu rum.
