Flancer’s will hold its 18th annual Charity Pizza-Eating Contest at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 8, at its Gilbert location, wrapping up the restaurant’s annual fundraiser for Warfighter Sports, Sunshine Acres Children’s Home, and Jewish Family & Children’s Services.

There’s still time to enter. The contest traditionally draws a few serious contestants, but most just want to have some fun and support a great cause. The public also is invited to watch.

Entry fee is $25. The first contestant to eat two large cheese pizzas will win a $100 Flancer’s gift card and be crowned by Miss Arizona. All contestants get a free T-shirt.

To enter or get more info, call 480-926-9077.

Sunday also is the last chance to bid on six prizes in the charity silent auction:

  • Two floor seats at a Phoenix Suns game, including free food and drink and valet parking ($1,900 value)
  • $500 UniFirst gift card for custom logo T-shirts, hats or uniforms.
  • Restaurant gift cards ($25 Liberty Market, $25 Odelay Bagel, $31 Von Hanson’s Meat, $100 Garcia’s)
  • Op Art Poppies Quilt from Whimsical Workshop ($425 value)
  • Seven one-hour floats at True Rest Float Spa ($550 value)
  • $300 Visa gift card

Bidding ends at 9 p.m. Sunday. You can see the current bids here.

Last year, Flancer’s raised $30,000 for the three charities.
