QuartHaus, beer & wine bar & (eventually) downtown Chandler’s 3rd microbrewery, to open April 30

QuartHaus – the combination of a microbrewery, a microdistillery, and a beer and wine bar – is scheduled to open on the southeast corner of Washington and Chicago in downtown Chandler on Monday, April 30.

For the first few months, the 3,000-square-foot cinder block building will be just a beer and wine bar, offering 25 craft beers (mostly from Arizona) and eight wines (four red, three white, and a rose) on tap.

There is no kitchen, although there’s room for a small one in the future.

Half of the building will be taken up by a 5-barrel brewhouse and still (a portion of which is pictured below) that owner Peter Sciacca says won’t be fully installed and operational until the fall.

The other half of QuartHaus has a three-sided bar that seats 24. Maximum interior occupancy is 59.

Roll-up garage-style doors open to a courtyard that has plentiful outdoor seating, a regulation-size basketball court and a grassy area for lawn games.

A patio fire pit and water feature will be added later this year.

QuartHaus is just one of two buildings in the half-acre walled complex. The other will be Civic Market, an urban grocery store that will sell pizza slices. It also will have 10 salon spaces available for lease.

The market is not scheduled to open until late summer.

The entire complex is one street east of Arizona Avenue, across an alley from the San Tan Justice Court House (QuartHaus, get it?) and just southwest of the Chandler police station.

Parking options include street parking and a parking garage directly across Washington Street.

Once operational, QuartHaus will be the third microbrewery in downtown Chandler, joining SanTan and The Perch. No brewer has been hired yet.

Tentative hours for QuartHaus will be 3-11 p.m. daily.
