In fortuitous timing, Valley-based Cheba Hut will open its sixth Arizona location at 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, next to the AMC Ahwatukee 24 theaters on the southwest corner of 50th Street and Chandler Boulevard in Ahwatukee.
Besides the reefer-themed chain’s familiar menu of ‘‘toasted’’ subs and salads, the location will have a full bar, including a dozen beers on tap.
Grand opening and 4/20 activities will include a scavenger hunt to win free sandwiches, raffles, and more. There will be five opportunities throughout the day to win free sandwiches for a year.
From 11 a.m.-2 p.m., you can pay for your food with a cash donation to the St. Mary’s Food Bank.
Cheba Hut Ahwatukee will be open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, Cheba Hut’s Mesa location will celebrate 4/20 with live bands, giveaways, and a $4.20 deal for a 4-inch sandwich and a Frisbee.
