The fourth annual Southwest Cajun Festival, a celebration of Cajun culture and cuisine, returns to Dr. A.J. Chandler Park in downtown Chandler from noon-9 p.m. Saturday, April 21.
A dozen food vendors will be selling Cajun favorites such as crawfish, jambalaya, fried catfish, etouffe, lobster rolls, creole shrimp, hush puppies, and red beans and rice.
Louisiana’s Abita Brewing is the festival’s main sponsor.
There will be a trio of eating contests: watermelon (4:15 p.m.), wings (4:45), and crawfish (5:15).
Live music will be provided by the Funkhaus Brass Band (noon), the Hoodoo Casters (2), the Urban Renewal Project (4:30), Little Hurricane (6), and Stan Sorenson (7:30).
Other activities will include Kornhole and other lawn games and a photo booth.
Festival admission is $10 online or $15 at the gate.
