With Arizona school teachers set to go on strike Thursday, a number of restaurants are putting together strike-related specials to ease educators’ financial hardship.
One of the first is The Bistro in Queen Creek, which will host a social hour and serve a free pre-strike meal – a barbecue pork sandwich, chips, and coleslaw – to any school staff member from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 25.
The free meal is for school staff only – no spouses or kids – and will give them a chance to socialize with other school staffers.
The offer is available no matter which district you teach in.
If you’d like to help out, non-school staff can donate paper plates, plastic cups, or bottled water. Contact the restaurant at 480-987-6874 for more info.
