Lenny’s Burgers, a locally born quick-service chain, has opened its sixth Valley location on the northwest corner of Alma School and Warner in Chandler.
Lenny’s was founded by Lenny Fleszar in 1984, and the 1950s-themed Phoenix restaurant quickly became popular for its inexpensive burgers made with never-frozen ground beef, fresh produce, and sauces made daily.
Last year, Cheapism.com named Lenny’s the ‘‘Best Good Cheap Burger’’ in Arizona. Since then, however, its cheapest burger has gone up from $3.79 to $4.29.
Besides its signature quarter-pound burgers, the menu also offers a half-dozen kinds of hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and strips, other sandwiches ranging from Reubens and tuna melts, fish and chips, and chili.
For the sweet tooth, there are ice cream cones, sundaes, floats, and shakes. A daily ‘‘happy hour’’ features half-priced shakes from 2-4 p.m.
Lenny’s made its East Valley debut on the southeast corner of Stapley and Southern in 2010. The Chandler location is the second in the East Valley.
In addition to the chain’s six restaurants are two others in the West Valley that aren’t affiliated with ‘‘the original Lenny’s Burger.’’
Lenny’s Burgers Chandler is open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
