May 3: ‘Taste of Romeo’s’ dinner at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert

Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus (pictured) and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3.

The dinners typically feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:

  • Vegeta Skins: Grilled hearts of palm, artichokes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, Italian dressing, and provolone.
  • Bleu Caesar Salad: Tomatoes, spring onions, red peppers and capers, tossed with bleu cheese, Italian dressing on romaine lettuce with homemade croutons and anchovies.
  • Salmon La Scala: Grilled salmon filet with sautéed red peppers, capers, and pine nuts.
  • Andalusian Baked Eggplant: Fennel sausage, roasted red peppers, pine nuts, spinach, red onions, scallions, and fresh garlic sauteed in olive oil and baked over eggplant with feta cheese.
  • Fantasy Cake: Layers of cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and Devil’s Food cake finished with dark chocolate and ground pistachios.

Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
