Prankster’s Gar & Brill, a casual hangout for ASU students and neighborhood types for more than 30 years, has closed its doors permanently.
The bar and grill opened on the northeast corner of Rural and Broadway in 1985. In addition to typical pub fare, it offered pool tables and plenty of TVs for watching sports.
No official announcement was made, although the business hours on Prankster’s Facebook page have been changed to “closed permanently.”
A second location, dubbed Prankster’s Too, opened on the southwest corner of Hayden and Thomas in Scottsdale in 2005. That location closed in early January.
