Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, a North Carolina-based chain of steakhouses, will open on the northeast corner of Val Vista and Williams Field in Gilbert during the first week of June.
The exact date has not been determined, but the restaurant has announced it will be open in time to participate in Alex’s Lemonade Days, a fundraiser for childhood cancer research, from June 8-10.
The7,026-square-foot restaurant, which will seat 229, has an ‘‘upscale lodge’’ feel with a huge stone fireplace, an exhibition kitchen, and a large patio.
The menu features hand-cut aged steaks, fresh seafood, chicken, and ribs.
The Gilbert location will be the chain’s second in the East Valley. The first opened near Chandler Fashion Center in 2007.
