The Whining Pig, a local craft beer and wine bar concept known for its inexpensive prices, no-frills decor, and laid-back atmosphere, opens its fifth Valley location at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17, in Ahwatukee.
It’s located on the northwest corner of I-10 and Ray between Honey Baked Ham and Native Grill & Wings in the small strip mall next to JC Penney.
The pint-sized but popular neighborhood hangouts (Gilbert location pictured below) offer a limited menu of five different grilled cheese sandwiches, a meat and cheese plate, and brownies.
The Ahwatukee location, which has a back patio, offers 38 beers on tap.
Hours are 1 p.m.-midnight Monday-Wednesday, 1 p.m.-2 a.m. Thursday-Saturday, and 1-10 p.m. Sunday.
A grand opening celebration is planned for June 2.
