Valley-based Quail Distributing is releasing a special collaboration beer Thursday, June 21, to raise money for the wife of a recently deceased employee.
Jeff McCarty, a veteran of the local food and beverage industry, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer earlier this year and passed away May 11.
On May 25, representatives from Quail, the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, 1912 Brewing, North Mountain Brewing, Page Springs Cellars, and Wild Tonic (pictured) met at Scottsdale Beer Company to create a beer in McCarty’s honor.
The hazy IPA brewed with organic honey and orange zest was named Party for McCarty.
Quail will be donating 100% of the total wholesale dollars (not just profit, but every dollar from the sale of each keg) to McCarty’s wife, Barb, to help pay for medical bills.
The beer will be on tap at 44 bars and restaurants, which will participate in a statewide toast for Jeff McCarty on June 21.
