June 14: ‘Taste of Romeo’s’ dinner at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert

Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus (pictured) and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14.

The dinners typically feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:

  • Romeo’s Choice Skins: Italian sausage, onions, peppers, and mushrooms covered in melted provolone and served with yogurt dressing.
  • Mandarin Dijon Chicken Salad: Grilled chicken, black olives, mandarin oranges, peas, carrots, water chestnuts, pecans, hearts of palm, and pineapple with honey Dijon dressing.
  • Salmon de Provance: Salmon filet baked in parchment paper with pea pods, scallions, red peppers, asparagus, and onions in a caper-tomato clam sauce (pictured).
  • Transylvania Chicken: Grilled chicken breast layered with roasted eggplant, roasted peppers, pine nuts, and chilled balsamic beans.
  • Dangerous Dilemma: Fudgy dark chocolate cake with a white chocolate
    cream layer and finished with a raspberry liqueur sauce.

Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
