The 2018 FIFA World Cup men’s soccer tournament kicks off Thursday, June 14, and a handful of East Valley restaurants will open early to show the games from Russia.
Fibbers Magees Irish Pub in Chandler will be open for all matches — even those at 3 a.m. — and will begin serving breakfast at 4:45 a.m.
The Hungry Monk in Chandler will open at 8 a.m. on game days and serve hot coffee, pancakes, and breakfast burritos. They also will have some craft beer specials.
The Brass Tap at Mesa Riverview and in downtown Gilbert will open at 8 a.m. (or before) game days and have food and drink specials. They also will be giving away jerseys and soccer balls.
Meridiem in Chandler will open at 7 a.m. through Sunday, June 24 (8 a.m. from June 25-July 7) and offer a special of a breakfast burrito (bacon, sausage, chorizo) and a beer (any bottle or draft) for $8.
B2 Burgers & Brews in Chandler will open at 8 a.m. on game days and serve a breakfast menu. They also will have $3 bottles of Heineken during games.
The World Cup is held every four years. This year’s tourney, which features 64 matches in 11 Russian cities, ends July 15.
