Grubstak, the 18-month-old poutine-like concept in downtown Gilbert, will open a second location this fall on the southeast corner of Gilbert and Ocotillo in south Chandler.
Instead of using traditional poutine’s French fries, Grubstak’s offerings – known as Staks – are built on a layer of waffle fries, roasted vegetables, or chopped romaine. For toppings, diners can select one of nine chef-designed Staks or build their own.
The Grubstak concept was conceived by owner Colton Grubb, the grandson of longtime Valley car dealer Lou Grubb.
The restaurant was featured on the Food Network’s popular ‘‘Diners Drive-ins and Dives’’ earlier this year.
The Chandler location is expected to open around Labor Day.
