Here’s what’s on the menu for this week’s ‘Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe’ dinner in Gilbert on July 12

RomeoTaus040218Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus (pictured) and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12.

The dinners typically feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:

  • Mushrooms Meteora: Button mushroom caps filled with feta cheese, capers, artichoke hearts, and dill. Baked.
  • Balsamic Steak Salad: Grilled steak tossed in extra virgin olive oil, balsamic, vinegar with roasted red peppers, scallions, tomatoes, mushrooms, red cabbage, artichoke hearts, and sunflower seeds with romaine lettuce.
  • Kasseri Chicken: Sauteed chicken breast, pepperoncinis, kalamatas, roasted garlic, kasseri cheese, and black peppercorns layered with roasted red peppers in a marsala cream sauce.
  • Spicy Putanesca: Grilled chicken breast and Italian sausage with sautéed black peppercorns, capers, pine nuts, kalamatas, scallions, and roasted garlic in basil-roasted and fresh tomato-anchovy sauce.
  • Rhapsody in Blush: Raspberry liqueur-soaked sponge cake layered with mascarpone and white chocolate raspberry mousse.

Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
