Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus (pictured standing) and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2.
The dinners feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:
- Spicy Lamb Potatoes:Â Gyros meat and potatoes with herbs and spices. Hand-formed and deep fried.
- Kale Panzanella Salad:Â Cucumbers, tomatoes, red and green onions, red bell peppers, capers, marinated artichoke heart, toasted bread, Dijon vinaigrette, and shredded kale.
- Penne Carbonara: Ham and bacon sauteed with red and green bell peppers in creamy cheese sauce with penne pasta.
- Pork Molise: Grilled pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon, roasted garlic, horseradish mashed potatoes, honey caramelized onions, and apricot-cherry sauce.
- Romeo’s Birthday Cake: Made with walnuts, caramel, coffee buttercream, and blackberry jam.
Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
