Aug. 2: ‘Taste of Romeo’s’ dinner at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert

Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus (pictured standing) and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2.

The dinners feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:

  • Spicy Lamb Potatoes: Gyros meat and potatoes with herbs and spices. Hand-formed and deep fried.
  • Kale Panzanella Salad: Cucumbers, tomatoes, red and green onions, red bell peppers, capers, marinated artichoke heart, toasted bread, Dijon vinaigrette, and shredded kale.
  • Penne Carbonara: Ham and bacon sauteed with red and green bell peppers in creamy cheese sauce with penne pasta.
  • Pork Molise: Grilled pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon, roasted garlic, horseradish mashed potatoes, honey caramelized onions, and apricot-cherry sauce.
  • Romeo’s Birthday Cake: Made with walnuts, caramel, coffee buttercream, and blackberry jam.

Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
