A new appetizer – Spicy Pollo Kale Salad – will make its debut when Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9.
The dinners usually feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:
- Bacon Skins: A mound of crispy bacon topped with mild cheddar cheese and yogurt dressing.
- Spicy Pollo Kale Salad:Â Shredded kale, corn, grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, and cannellini beans.
- Salonika Chicken: Italian sausage, mushrooms, pepperoncini, garlic, capers, and pine nuts over a chicken breast in orange brandy and white wine.
- Sun Flower Beef:Â Steak strips, green onions, red peppers, portobello mushrooms, sunflower seeds, and capers in teriyaki sauce over brown rice.
- Not Ella Bar:Â Some chocolate, some hazelnut.
Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
