Chandler D’Vine to be remodeled as St. Amand Kitchen & Cocktails

DVineChandler080818Goodbye, D’Vine Bistro & Wine Bar in south Chandler. Hello, St. Amand Kitchen & Cocktails.

The 11-year-old D’Vine, located on the northwest corner of Alma School and Ocotillo, is getting a complete makeover next month.

Changes will include a lightening up and modernization of the interior (artist’s rendering shown above), an expansion of the bar and patio, and an entirely new menu.

The new name pays homage to the seventh-century monk who’s the patron saint of beer and wine producers and sellers.

The original D’Vine was opened by Mark Nowicki in east Mesa in 2005 and quickly became one of the East Valley’s top food and drink destinations.

Two years later, Nowicki launched the Chandler spinoff, which never became as popular as its sibling.

The Chandler location has been sold twice. Current owner Robert Coulson took over in late 2010.

In recent years, the two D’Vines have developed a degree of separation – for example, both now have their own websites – but longtime D’Vine chef Ramon Rice stills oversees both menus.

Rice will create a new menu – completely different from the Mesa D’Vine’s – of what Coulson calls ‘‘modern peasant fare.’’

Coulson’s plan is to close for a few weeks in September to gut the building, then reopen as St. Amand in October.
