Aug. 16: ‘Taste of Romeo’s’ dinner at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert

Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16.

The dinners feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:

  • Portobellini: Grilled portobello mushroom with roasted peppers, basil pesto, garlic, and kasseri cheese.
  • Teriyaki Chicken Salad: Black beans, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, avocado, feta, and lemon tossed together over romaine. Served with chicken sautéed in a gourmet teriyaki sauce.
  • Balsamic Shrimp De Modena: Shrimp, roasted red pepper, hearts of artichoke and palm, roasted garlic, asparagus, and capers in EVOO, balsamic vinegar with freshly grated Romano cheese, linguini.
  • Pasta Rustica: Mild Italian sausage and shrimp with zucchini, mushrooms, and sweet red peppers in basil-pesto cream with ziti noodles.
  • Cheesecake Brownies: Rich chocolaty cream cheese brownies with coconut and pecans.

Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
