Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16.
The dinners feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:
- Portobellini: Grilled portobello mushroom with roasted peppers, basil pesto, garlic, and kasseri cheese.
- Teriyaki Chicken Salad: Black beans, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, avocado, feta, and lemon tossed together over romaine. Served with chicken sauteÌed in a gourmet teriyaki sauce.
- Balsamic Shrimp De Modena: Shrimp, roasted red pepper, hearts of artichoke and palm, roasted garlic, asparagus, and capers in EVOO, balsamic vinegar with freshly grated Romano cheese, linguini.
- Pasta Rustica: Mild Italian sausage and shrimp with zucchini, mushrooms, and sweet red peppers in basil-pesto cream with ziti noodles.
- Cheesecake Brownies: Rich chocolaty cream cheese brownies with coconut and pecans.
Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
