The Churchill, a small restaurants-and-retail complex built out of 19 corrugated metal shipping containers, will open Saturday, Sept. 1, on the northeast corner of First Street and Garfield in downtown Phoenix.

The 14,000-square-foot marketplace will have 12 vendors located around a 300-seat central courtyard. There also will be a second-story rooftop deck.

So far, 10 of the 12 vendors have been confirmed:

  • Breadwinner: A new sandwich shop from the team behind Scottsdale’s Evo
  • Pobrecito: A new cocktail bar from the team behind Counter Intuitive and UnderTow
  • Provecho: A central Mexico food concept
  • The Brill Line: A craft beer bar
  • Freak Brothers Pizza: A food truck turned brick-and-mortar
  • Foxy Fruit: A smoothies and acai bowls spot
  • Sauvage: A wine shop
  • State Forty Eight: A sports apparel shop
  • Cosas: A boutique featuring the work of Mexican artists
  • Gather: A housewares store

One previously announced tenant, Pedal Haus Brewery in downtown Tempe, has pulled out of the project.
