Ghost Ranch, a new modern Southwest restaurant from owner-chef Aaron Chamberlain, has opened on the northeast corner of Rural and Warner in south Tempe.
Chamberlain, perhaps best known for his previous work at award-winning St. Francis in central Phoenix, opened the Tempe Public Market Cafe on the same corner last January.
Chamberlain’s restaurant group also includes the Phoenix Public Market Cafe and Taco Chelo in downtown Phoenix.
Ghost Ranch’s ‘‘official’’ opening day is Monday, Aug. 27, but it launched a soft opening Thursday.
According to the restaurant, its yet-unpublished menu, executed by Nogales natives Rene Andrade and Roberto Centeno under Chamberlain’s direction, features ‘‘hearty cowboy steaks, smoky rancho beans, larger-than-life taco platters and legendary bowls of green chile.’’
Ghost Ranch’s hours are listed as 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
