Sleepy Dog Brewing in Tempe has undergone a series of changes since it was purchased by Chicago-based Two Brothers Brewing in February 2017.
Some new beers. New logo. New can artwork. Now, there’s a newly renovated taproom.
Sleepy Dog, which closed in June for the renovations, reopened over the weekend. The physical changes, however, are not as significant as the operational ones:
- Cash is no longer accepted. You must use a credit or debit card.
- Tips are no longer accepted. Tips now are included in the price of the beers.
- Food is no longer available on-site. But you can bring in food.
- Dogs are welcome in the taproom.
Two Brothers, of course, also runs Two Brothers Tap House and Brewery, which opened in Old Town Scottsdale in 2015.
Under Two Brothers, Sleepy Dog offers just four core beers: Desert Dog pale ale, Wet Snout peanut butter snout, Tail Chaser IPA, and Fiesty Chihuahua Mexican-style lager.
Earlier this year, Two Brothers began distributing the Sleepy Dog beers in Chicago.
The taproom’s new hours are 4-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 3-10 p.m. Friday, 2-10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday. Closed Monday.
