The Nitro Live in Gilbert aids rescue mission with new ice cream sliders

Labor Day seems like the perfect day for The Nitro Live Icecreamery in Gilbert to debut its new ice cream sliders.

The dessert treats feature your choice of Nitro Live ice cream sandwiched between chocolate chip cookies or snickerdoodles made by Phoenix Rescue Mission.

“Mission Possible Cookies are made from scratch daily by Phoenix Rescue Mission clients struggling with homelessness, addiction and trauma,” says Tom Moody, PRM’s director of social enterprises and vocational development.

“Not only does the production of these tasty cookies provide work as therapy opportunities for our clients, but 100 percent of the proceeds from this program also supports vocational training.’’

The sliders will be priced at $4 for two. On Labor Day, however, they are $3 per pair in honor of the labor of those who made them.

“Nitro Live applauds the invaluable service Phoenix Rescue Mission provides its clients and is proud to play a small part in its success by using Mission Possible cookies in our sliders,” says Nitro Live CEO Felicia Vandermolen.

Nitro Live also will sell larger Mission Possible cookies for $2 apiece with $1 from each benefitting a local nonprofit.
