AZ Food Crafters, the Chandler shop best known for its delicious hand pies, is sharpening its focus on meal prep and catering – and it’s launched a new website to showcase the changes.
Longtime fans don’t have to worry: AZ Food Crafters still will be selling the savory and sweet hand pies that made it famous. They’re available in frozen three-packs to go for $12.
And owners Mike Caliendo and Eddie Castillo still will be fixtures at farmers markets throughout the Valley.
But they’ve spiffed up their offerings of frozen meals to go – which can be ordered online for pickup or delivery – with more made-from-scratch soups, salads, proteins, sides, and desserts.
Proteins include 10 main meat dishes, ranging from green chile pork to chipotle BBQ chicken to Italian sausages with onions and peppers. Packages are 16-24 ounces, and prices are $10-$14.
Seven sides, such as green chile mac ’n’ cheese or Southwest cauliflower rice, are $10 for 10-21 ounces.
Most meal prep portions are large enough for two to four people to share.
Soups are 16 ounces for $5. Single-serve 6-ounce salads are $3.
