It’s Oktoberfest season, and two of the first celebrations in the East Valley will take place Saturday, Sept. 22.
Pedal Haus Brewery in downtown Tempe is teaming up with Sierra Nevada for a party from 5-10 p.m.
Special steins will be sold for $12 – or $6 if you’re wearing Oktoberfest attire – and can be refilled with select beers for $7.
There will be stein-holding and sausage-eating contests, and polka music from 6:30-9:30.
At The Casual Pint in south Chandler, the fun starts at 2 p.m. and goes until midnight with stein specials and German food from the grill.
There will be swag raffles and ‘‘contests of German strength and fortitude’’ all day. Kassie Jayde and Arizona Blacktop will perform.
There is no cover charge for either event.
