Chicken Veneto and Pork AgroDolce will be the featured entrees when Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27.
The dinners feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:
- Spanaki Balls: Balls of spinach, rice, mozzarella, and provolone. Battered and deep fried. Served with chilled tomato sauce.
- Roasted Eggplant Salad: Roasted eggplant, red peppers, kalamata olives, green chilies, carrots, garbanzo, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil with Romano-parmesan.:
- Chicken Veneto: Chicken breast, whole black peppercorns, capers, spring onion, mushrooms, and garlic in Marsala cream sauce.
- Pork AgroDolce: Blackened pork tenderloin, smashed crispy potatoes, green beans, grape tomatoes, roasted garlic, balsamic, and fig agrodolce.
- Intoxicated Love: Cake with dark chocolate, Grand Marnier, milk chocolate, and Kahlua, white and milk chocolate layers kissed by Jack Daniels.
Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
