After nearly a year of delays, State 48 Brewery finally has opened its newest location in the historic Welnick Arcade Market and Liefgreen Seed building on the southeast corner of Fourth Avenue and Van Buren in downtown Phoenix.
The location makes the brewpub a prime option after music shows at the Van Buren, which is just across the street, or the nearby Crescent Ballroom.
State 48 debuted in Surprise in 2016 and opened State 48 Funk House in Glendale earlier this year. A Scottsdale location, State 48 Lager House, is in the works.
The downtown Phoenix location’s 10,000 square feet includes a full kitchen and a 20-barrel brewhouse to help feed its 60 taps. It will handle production of State 48’s core beers, while Surprise’s 10-barrel system will focus on specialty ales.
