The Perch Pub & Brewery in downtown Chandler hosts Pints for Pink, a fundraiser for Real Men Wear Pink participant Eric Hanson, from 8-11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5.
A percentage of the evening’s proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society, which is sponsoring the Real Men Wear Pink campaign that gives men a leadership role in the fight against breast cancer.
Hanson, a pretrial services case manager for the Pima County Superior Court in Tucson, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. His fundraising campaign’s goal is $2,500 for the ACS.
‘‘The look of pain on my family member’s faces once I shared the news will never leave my memory and that is why I want to take the fight to breast cancer in this manner,’’ Hanson says.
‘‘I pray that the monies raised through the Real Men Wear Pink campaign may eradicate this terrible disease and save people from the physical and emotional pain it causes.’’
For the entire month of October, $1 from every pint of Perch Grisette, a style similar to a saison, will be donated to Hanson’s effort.
