Gilbert’s downtown restaurant scene pushes southward today with the opening of Hundred North Bar Kitchen on the northwest corner of Gilbert Road and Bruce Avenue. The Mediterranean-influenced restaurant takes over the ground floor of the recently constructed building next to GCM Liquor.
Flying Basset Brewing in Gilbert has launched a new happy hour menu of $6 food items available from 3-6 p.m. and 8 p.m.-close Monday-Friday: Chicken & Waffles: Three fried chicken tenders, quartered buttermilk waffle, sprinkled with powdered sugar. Served with
Tortellini Gianni (pictured) and Salmon La Scala will be the featured entrees when Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.
