DC Steakhouse in downtown Chandler is moving next year – but not very far.
The 8-year-old restaurant on the northwest corner of San Marcos Place and Boston is relocating less than 100 yards to the south in the New Square development that’s being built in the longtime gravel parking lot behind Bourbon Jacks and The Original ChopShop.
The project’s groundbreaking was held just last week. DC Steakhouse will continue operating out of its current space until its new space is finished near the end of 2019.
The new ground-level space will be about the same size as the original but have a private room and a longer patio overlooking a park (see artist’s rendering above).
The New Square development’s first phase will include a three-story building (with DC Steakhouse and other restaurants and retail on the ground floor and office space on the upper floors) and a one-story building (with one large restaurant or two smaller ones).
No restaurants other than DC Steakhouse have been announced yet for the development.
