Sweetest Season Artisan Eatery, a full-service brunch and lunch restaurant, has opened in the former Miele’s Italian restaurant space on the southeast corner of McClintock and Guadalupe in south Tempe.
It’s the second eatery for owners Todd and Melody Elkin, who opened Sweetest Season Bakery Boutique on the northeast corner of McClintock and Apache in north Tempe in 2016.
Like the bakery and cafe, the new restaurant offers sandwiches on housemade bread, flatbreads, salads, and baked goods, but it also features many new menu items, such as:
- French Connection:Â Potato tartin (fancy hash browns), two soft boiled eggs, capers, smoked salmon, cream cheese, and fresh herbs (pictured).
- The Burger: Juicy Angus burger patty, soy-and-black pepper portabelini mushrooms, candied bacon, arugula, and melted provolone served on a pretzel bun.
- Breakfast Fries: Golden seasoned fries, candied bacon pieces, over-easy egg, avocado, micro greens, and super-duper secret sauce.
- Hangry: Three strips of candied bacon, andouille sausage link, three eggs, hash browns, and toast.
- Steak & Eggs: Peppered tenderloin, two eggs, grilled onions, and hash browns.
- Pray, Eat, Love: Chilled smoked salmon, roasted tomatoes and asparagus spears, hard-boiled egg, olive tapenade, and toast.
- Season’s Benedict: Buttered toast ‘‘crouton,’’ soft-boiled egg, grilled ham, fresh tomatoes, and hollandaise.
Sweetest Season Artisan Eatery is open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. daily.
