The owners of The Brickyard Downtown have announced their second downtown Chandler restaurant – The Hidden House – will open in early 2019.
The new 8,500-square-foot venture takes over a refurbished 1939 bungalow with a now-enclosed backyard on Commonwealth, a block behind SanTan Brewing.
The Hidden House will offer two ‘‘tempos’’ – a fancier experience on the front patio and in the 34-seat dining room and a more casual atmosphere on the back patio and in the “hangar” (a garage-like structure with lounge-ish seating and a stage) – although all areas will share the same menu.
Like The Brickyard, a hip cocktail bar with chef-crafted small plates, The Hidden House will be open Tuesday through Sunday. Unlike its sibling, Hidden House will be open for lunch as well as dinner.
Also different than the Brickyard, the food at The Hidden House will not be tapas (think steak and seafood entrees) and will be much more elevated.
Brickyard chef Aaron Rickel is working on a yet-to-be-released menu of ‘‘chef-inspired New American cuisine.’’
Two bars will offer an 80-bottle wine list, local and seasonal beers, six custom cocktails on tap, and an extensive classic cocktail portfolio created by Brickyard beverage director Bobby Kramer and mixologist Michael Regan.
The Hidden House also will be a full-service venue for events like weddings, corporate dinners, or rehearsals.
Look for the opening in late January or February.
