Hyderabad House Biryani Place, a global chain of Indian restaurants, has opened its first Arizona location on the northwest corner of Alma School and Chandler Heights in south Chandler.
The restaurant’s menu offers an expansive array of dishes from southern India – where the city of Hyderabad is located – that typically are lighter and spicier than the better-known northern India dishes.
Hyderabad House’s signature menu items are the namesake biryanis, or mixed rice dishes, of which it serves 18 varieties, but its menu also has dosas, curries, and Tandoor dishes.
Hyderabad House offers a lunch buffet – an ‘‘executive’’ buffet Monday-Thursday and a ‘‘grand’’ buffet Friday-Sunday – and an a la carte menu in the evenings.
It also serves raju gari bhojanam, a bottomless spread served tableside, for lunch on the second Sunday of every month.
Lunch hours are 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Dinner hours are 5-9:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
After overwhelming crowds on its opening weekend, Hyderabad House was forced to close today to restock. It will reopen Tuesday.
