Opening Wednesday: Blackberry Cafe in Chandler (menu)

By Jess Harter Monday, January 7, 2019

There’s Chicago-style pizza, Chicago-style hot dogs, and even Chicago-style barbecue. But is there such a thing as Chicago-style breakfast?

We’ll find out Wednesday when Reggie and Setkia Memishovski, who ran their our own restaurant in Chicago for 21 years, open the BlackBerry Cafe (Facebook) in Chandler.

It takes over the former Biscuits Cafe strip-mall space on the northwest corner of Dobson and Warner, across the street from Lee Lee International Supermarkets.

Although BlackBerry Cafe only will be open for breakfast and lunch, its five-page menu offers plenty of enticements for hungry diners.

The house breakfast specialties are:

  • House Plate Special 2×2: Two eggs, two pancakes, and a choice of two pieces of bacon or two sausages ($9.95)
  • Bacon & Egg Sandwich: Served on a flaky croissant with American cheese and a side of hash browns ($9.95)
  • Avocado Toast: Toasted wheat bread with avocado, seasoned tomato, and olive oil drizzle with two eggs ($9.95)

There also are 11 kinds of pancakes (including handmade potato pancakes), six waffles, four French toasts, six crepes, 10 omelets, and five skillets.

A Monte Cristo, Patty Melt, Rueben Classic, and Corned Beef on Rye head the lunch side of the menu that has 17 sandwiches, six burgers, three wraps, and four salads.

BlackBerry Cafe, 2090 N. Dobson Road, Chandler, is open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. Phone: 480-454-3917.
