Don’t look now, but Maskadores Taco Shop seems to be quietly taking over the East Valley.
The local chain of Mexican wrestling (lucha libre) themed eateries has opened its fifth East Valley location on the northwest corner of Dobson and Chandler Boulevard in Chandler.
It follows in the footsteps of another Chandler location – on the southwest corner of Gilbert and Queen Creek – that opened four months ago. There also are two locations in Tempe and one in east Mesa.
The chain, which formerly was known as Mucha Lucha, serves nearly 20 kinds of tacos, including green chile beef, tinga chipotle chicken, red carnitas pork, Baja shrimp, and surf and turf.
Maskadores also serves burritos, enchiladas, tostadas, quesadillas, and nachos.
Hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and closed Sunday.
