Drunk Monk tiki bar taking over Cowboy Ciao space in Old Town Scottsdale

By Jess Harter Tuesday, February 19, 2019

Drunk Monk, a new tiki bar and restaurant taking over the former Cowboy Ciao in Old Town Scottsdale, will hold a hiring fair from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, and Thursday, Feb. 21.

The Polynesian concept is seeking kitchen staff, hostesses, servers, bartenders, barbacks, security, and managers. It plans to open in March.

Drunk Monk is the brainchild of Greg Donnally, Andrew Nam, and Scott Hane, owners of the nearby Japanese-themed Geisha a Go Go.

Donnally also was a co-owner of Drift Lounge (pictured), a popular tiki bar in Old Town Scottsdale from 2002 to 2012.

Owner Peter Kasperski closed Cowboy Ciao, one of Scottsdale’s best-known restaurants for two decades, last October along with its sibling, Kazmirez Wine Bar.

Scottsdale restaurateur Tommy Plato (Gelato Spot, Second Story Liquor Bar) reopened Kazimierz Wine and Whiskey Bar in January.
