El Paisano Mexican & American Restaurant opens in Tempe

El Paisano Mexican & American Restaurant, a fast-casual eatery offering everything from burritos and tacos to burgers and Philly cheesesteaks, has opened on the northeast corner of Rural and Apache in north Tempe.

The restaurant began as a counter inside the nearby El Paisano Market. Now it’s added its own space on the ground floor of the Rise on Apache apartment building. With its proximity to ASU, it’s open until 4 a.m. daily.

El Paisano’s signature menu item is the Hot Cheetos Burrito ($6.99), one of seven everyday burros available with a choice of steak or chicken.

Other specialties include the El Pasairito Burrito ($8.49), a steak burrito wrapped in a quesadilla, and the El Trumparito Burrito ($6.89), stuffed with buffalo chicken and fries and smothered with nacho cheese.

Speaking of nachos, there are five kinds of on the menu, including Hot Cheetos ($7.99) and Doritos ($7.99).

El Paisano is open 8 a.m.-4 a.m. daily.
