Hangar 9, the neighborhood bar and grill that lost its lease in Chandler four months ago, has reopened at a new location in Gilbert.
The restaurant formerly was located on the northwest corner of McQueen and Pecos for three years. It blamed its landlord for kicking it out in favor of a ‘‘corporate’’ restaurant.
(BKD’s Backyard Joint, a new sports bar concept from the owners of The Melting Pot, opened in the space in January.)
Hangar 9 reopens four miles north, taking over the former Buffalo Wild Wings building on the southeast corner of McQueen and Elliot that has been empty for four years.
Hangar 9’s menu offers burgers, sandwiches, tacos, and pizza. Dinner entrees include country fried steak, meatloaf, and chicken pot pie.
Lunch specials ($6.99-$8.99) are available weekdays, and happy hour ($5 apps, $2 canned beers, $3 wells, and more) runs 2-7 p.m. and 10 p.m.-close Monday-Saturday.
Hangar 9 is open 11 a.m.-midnight Sunday-Monday, 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, and 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Thursday-Saturday.
