Yesterday’s closing of Kona Grill at Chandler Fashion Center reminded me I haven’t written about Sir Veza’s Taco Garage, which closed last month at the mall.
The Tucson-based fast-casual concept – which celebrated founder Raymon Flores’ love of muscle cars, motorcycles, and Mexican food – had opened the East Valley location in December 2014.
Like Kona, Sir Veza’s has struggled in recent years. Its original Tucson location closed in 2016, and its Tucson Mall location followed suit in December.
That leaves the concept with three small airport eateries – in Phoenix, Tucson, and Baltimore-Washington – and another at Talking Stick Arena.
According to the Chandler mall’s website, Sir Veza’s space is being taken by a new concept called Lulabelle Low Country Kitchen and Raw Bar.
