White Castle, which last August announced plans to expand to Arizona, finally has broken ground on its debut location just north of Salt River Fields at Talking Stick on the northwest corner of Via De Ventura and the Loop 101 in Scottsdale.
It’ll become just the third location in the western United States for the family-owned burger chain, famous for its iconic burgers known as sliders.
Founded in Wichita, Kan., in 1921 – making it America’s oldest fast-food hamburger chain – White Castle now is based in Columbus, Ohio, and has nearly 400 locations in 13 states.
The Scottsdale location is expected to open this fall.
