Osteria in northeast Mesa shut down – again – for failure to pay rent

By Jess Harter Thursday, April 11, 2019

Osteria, an ambitious Italian restaurant in northeast Mesa, has been locked out by its landlord for the second time in five months. This time it looks permanent.

The eatery opened in March 2018 on the southeast corner of McKellips and Alta Mesa (the half-miler between Higley and Recker).

Despite positive reviews for its food, the owners were locked out by the landlord in mid-November for failure to pay rent.

The restaurant eventually paid the rent and was allowed to reopen a few days later.

This week, however, there’s yet another notice on the locked doors indicating the landlord has taken possession of the premises for non-payment of rent.
