SunUp Brewing in Phoenix switches from brewpub to taproom format today

By Jess Harter Monday, April 22, 2019

SunUp Brewing, which had operated as a brewpub since 2009 but closed its kitchen Saturday, switches to a taproom format today.

The change, announced April 9, means it will continue to offer its diverse lineup of award-winning ales, but not food.

SunUp’s new hours are 2-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 2-10 p.m. Friday, and noon-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The brewery began as a pub called Sonora Brewhouse in 2001 before adding brewing equipment in 2005 and eventually changing its name.

SunUp expanded with a 15-barrel production brewhouse next to the brewpub in 2015 and began canning its beers.
