Tempe Public Market Café, which opened last August on the northeast corner of Rural and Warner in south Tempe, will close Monday, May 6, for several weeks of renovations.

The changes, which will allow the order-at-the-counter restaurant and bar to implement full service for nightly dinner and new weekend brunch, will include:

  • Several booths replaced by long high-top tables to encourage community-style seating;
  • A new lounge area in the main dining room;
  • Café tables added to the west side of the building;
  • High-top tables added to the patio;
  • A projector installed above the patio fireplace for nighttime movies;
  • An expanded retail area;
  • New menu boards, fresh greenery, and a new pastry case.

TPMC also will add some new items to its menu.

During the closure, TPMC will offer employees work at its headquarters and at its next-door sister location, Ghost Ranch.

The cafe is expected to reopen in June.
