Beaver Choice in Mesa to transform itself into fast-casual concept

By Jess Harter Tuesday, April 30, 2019

Say goodbye to Beaver Choice, the sit-down restaurant with an eclectic menu of Polish, Scandinavian, and Canadian dishes.

The 9-year-old restaurant, located on the southeast corner of Extension and Baseline in Mesa, is transforming itself into a fast-casual concept.

No word yet on how extensively its menu may change, but its former website now redirects to a new name: becekitchen.com.

While the restaurant is being remodeled, it will only be open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with limited hours of 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for lunch and 5-9 p.m. for dinner.

Polish-born Hanna Gabrielsson, who also has lived in Sweden and Canada, opened Beaver Choice at McClintock and Broadway in Tempe in 2010.

She moved the restaurant to the much larger Mesa space in 2013.
