By Jess Harter Thursday, May 23, 2019

Churroholic, a California-based concept specializing in churros and ice cream, opened its first East Valley store Wednesday at Tempe Marketplace.

The store is located near the splash pad, across from Barnes & Noble and Forever 21.

The signature menu items are the loop churros, fried-dough pastries traditional in Spain and Portugal, that are $3.95-$4.95.

There are eight varieties: plain, glazed, chocolate almond, matcha pebbles, cookie and cream, chocolate sprinkles, and coconut chocolate. Toppings include nuts, sprinkles, and matcha.

The menu also features churro ice cream sandwiches,  churro bites, and churro ice cream sundaes.

There are four flavors of ice cream:  strawberry cheesecake, cookie and cream, chocolate brownie, and vanilla.

Hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday-Sunday.
