Condolences to the family and friends of Go Lb. Salt co-owner Aaron Eckburg, who passed away unexpectedly over the weekend.
Eckburg died Saturday morning from an aortic dissection, according to his wife, Liz. He was 48.
The Eckburgs launched their Gilbert-based artisan salt business in 2011, introducing products at local farmers markets before establishing an online store.
Besides flavored salts, Go Lb. Salt sells bacon and other seasonings. The Eckburgs also taught salt-related cooking classes.
A memorial service for Eckburg will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 12450 E. Mountain View Road, Scottsdale.
The service will be streamed on YouTube for those who cannot attend.
