Today is National Donut Day, created by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor their members who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.
To celebrate, many East Valley doughnut shops will be offering free or discounted deals today. It’s a good idea to call ahead to make sure a specific location is participating.
Bashas’: Buy 12 doughnuts and get six doughnuts free.
BoSa Donuts: Buy one doughnut and get another free at participating locations.
Donut Parlor: Get a free glazed doughnut.
Dunkin’: Get a free classic doughnut of your choice with purchase of any beverage.
Krispy Kreme: Get one free doughnut. If the company gives away 1 million doughnuts, it will hold another free doughnut day later this month.
Walmart: Get one free glazed doughnut in the bakery section.
